Social Media Marketing for Lawyers

By John Smith

In Los Angeles, Social Media Marketing still lags a little behind Hollywood.

These industries are still very separate as peanut butter and jelly. The reason being is because Hollywood is still in limbo on how to monetize the mass amount of online content that is being distributed and consumed everyday by the millions of people on places like YouTube, Hulu, Yahoo and Google.

The executives in Hollywood see it a little different, Silicon Valley is disturbing their industry like everything else they mess up. The only problem is Hollywood.

Most innovators and start ups see it as a new era of sharing each others stories, being more transparent with each other and always having to know what you friends are doing.

Its a complete and fundamental shift in society. Technology has embraced the voiceless and have now made them the boisterous ones. Ones that can cause countries like Egypt to be brought down.

Here's how I see it. Social media technology and communications will continue to be the most important aspect of our social lives. One of the most social and cultural things one can do is watch movies.

Have you seen avatar? Do you see they symbolic metaphors that are used through out the movie. A tribe feeds of this tree that supports them with harmony and information. It's very comparable to what is now Facebook.

This is an era of enlightenment. How does that actually relate into social media. Its easy. Take a look at what enlightenment exactly is?

As long as Hollywood continues to fight the battle of new and fresh content producers, the longer the fight to glory will last. Soon they will see their kids who are now glued to YouTube as the leaders of their times. If kids who are to be the future of our time are now watching You Tube as though it was Television in our days, who's to say broadcast will even be a player in the near future.

I would say YouTube is going to be the biggest broadcaster of the world unless someone can come up with a better way to share video.

While someone at MITT is trying to figure that out, You Tube will continue to create niche content and will continue to disrupt the very industry that has been the behemoth of our country.
