Your Great 5 Reasons For The Wanting Of Amethyst Jewellery

By John S Stewart

My Intro

If you think you do need protection from getting drunk or from even being seduced, then legend suggests that amethyst jewellery is the perfect talisman. Any of the amethyst rings, amethyst pendants, or amethyst earrings available today, can help you to achieve this. It is also believed by some that they can help you lead a sincere, happy and trustful life, and therefore achieve harmony with that of God.

Many in the Catholic Church become to know this crystal as being the "Papal" or "Bishops" stone, because it was their symbol of a meaningful life, and so was worn by many in their cross and ring jewellery as a mark of officialdom.

A few "tempters" for you to acquire this jewellery are to follow:

5 Reasons

1. Colour Of Amethyst

The colours that are available range from very light lavender/grey, almost colourless, to light purple, dark and intense purples, and also a rich purple that show flashes of red. The latter is really quite rare, and the darker shades usually demand higher prices, compared to the lesser quality paler purple and lavender shades. The best colour is really down to your own personal preference, because "beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder".

In Victorian times one of the most popular gemstones used for jewellery making, was that of a "Rose de France" colour variation of amethyst. This was basically a very pale lavender shade from this family of gemstones.

2. Legend Of Amethyst .

To repel any negative energy, as well as provide a powerful bond among, soul, body and mind, and finally go on to achieve spiritual contentment, it is thought by many that the amethyst is the stone to hold.

Many diseases and other medical afflictions, such as those of the skin, teeth, arthritic, stomach, heart and even the mind, have been thought to be treatable by using amethyst crystals.

Popularly, it was being used to protect crops against storms and locusts, to bring good luck in war and hunting, ward off evil spirits and inspire the intellect. Roman philosophers even suggested that by wearing it around the neck on a length of hair from a dog, it would provide protection against possible snake bites. Also eagles were thought to place amethyst in their nest to protect their eggs from snakes.

3. Birthstone

The amethyst is known to be the birthstone for those who are born in February.

4. Amethyst Anniversary Stone

The anniversary stone for all sorts of 6th year celebration is that of the amethyst crystal.

5. Zodiac Sign Amethyst

The amethyst is known in astrological terms as being the gemstone being linked to the Zodiac Sign for Pisces.

My Conclusion

This stone can be found in all shapes, sizes and set in all metal types. But with it being the most renowned, peaceful and sincere of all gemstones, in my thought never looks any better than when seen in such examples as white gold amethyst earrings or white gold pendants, as well as absolutely stunning when found in that of Amethyst Rings types, due to amazing contrast of the rich purple colours and that of the white metal.

Size for size, it is not anywhere near as expensive as some other family of gemstones, so it is found in many large and excellent quality examples of jewellery for comparatively little cost.

It is true that may be not all of us want to be protected from either seduction or drunkenness by this stone, but with all Amethyst Jewellery being the preferred gemstone for St. Valentine, what better choice to purchase for a loved one to celebrate your underlying love...?

If you are going to acquire an item of amethyst jewellery, and for whatsoever reason, then good luck in your search.
