Wound up breaking several portable rf wireless headphones, so got him this one with a long cord. The earcup paper will flake off within a few years or under heavy use, just like a comparable Sony I had. I feel like I hear so much more in my 360 video games with these on, however in the near future may think about a surround sound headset (for example those from turtle beach) to permit chat during gameplay. Each time I place these on I feel like I am a serious fan of songs and I don't like to be disturbed while I am listening, which really has it is benefits, particularly in the library. I truly love these headphones and particularly like the switch between movie and music, which actually has a difference!
If there is an opportunity you may want richer sound, so if you have some extra bucks I recommend you continue searching for head phones.
