Enhance you Memory and Concentration with These Simple Techniques

By Nathalie Doremieux

We all wish at some point in our lives that we would have better concentration or at least better memory.

It isn't just students and working women and men who really need concentration, but anyone including you and me. But to improve memory power and sharpen the mind you have to invest considerable time in thorough concentration exercises together with memory improvement games. It isn't about performing these brain gym exercises intensively just for a handful of times per week but doing them on a regular basis for a set period of time daily throughout life.

Such long term commitment and practice works wonders and keeps the brain at its highest potential in "learning to retain" information even when a person gets older. Persistence and dedication is absolutly necessary as only practice will bring desired results.

Brain in the beginning fights back the initiatives to discipline it by making you believe as though there's been no improvement. This might lead to stress or disillusionment and shortly the individual manages to lose the motivation to carry on the mind exercise program. It's in such cases you need to not lose the conviction and vision concerning the final goal of mastering mental performance and reaching the whole potential of the brain.

Meditation and deep breathing are two very useful exercises when it comes to improving concentration. One can opt for Yoga which involves exercise of both mind and body through meditation and deep breathing. The science of Yoga keeps body supple and mind agile. This control of senses by focusing them on whatever one chooses to holds the concentration in the right direction.

Rather than attempting to overburden oneself with long hours of practice initially it is advisable to keep the practice short and fun. If the concentration training is done with full determination and without any self doubt on the purpose of it, they have been found to be very effective.
