Why We Should Be Living In The Moment

By Ash Morgan

People say we should be spending more time living in the moment instead of worrying about what is happening tomorrow.

Couldn't agree more, it's all about being happy now, and appreciating the dawning of every new day.

And I say this as someone who dislike the use of cliches. Words like Living in the NOW, Living in the Moment are a little too corny for me, in everyday speak, but whether I like them or not cliches are cliches because they are usually true.

It's a pretty short life down here on earth, and our role so minor anyway. The little things that scare us will ultimately disappear soon anyway.

We have a duty with this life, to give it our best shot, and not think about the consequences.

It is pointless to stress out over bad things happening to us and our families. When we think like this, we cause ourselves unnecessary pain and suffering.

The future is important, because we need to set goals. We need to have something we aspire to, a challenge that keeps us going and drives us on to live a good life.

Without this we just ramble on without any direction.

Tomorrow is very important, however it should be seen as a way of inspiring us to become even better.

Our past is important too, but only if we use it to reflect on happy times, or to learn from past mistakes. To dwell on the past in a negative way, serves only to destroy us.

But what really matters, is what is happening right now. Living in the moment, not wasting our time worrying and reflecting.

It is true, when people say, careful what you wish for. If you spend all your time thinking or wishing about an outcome, chances are that will happen.

In the same way you might think about losing. If you have convinced yourself that you are going to drop that putt, or miss that shot, then that is probably the most likely outcome.

Fear can knock our confidence for six. It has the ability to invade our minds and shut us down in an instant.

Fear can attack us because we allow it to overcome us.

FEAR is a BULLY, if you stand up to it, it will run away.

I'm not saying we should turn a blind eye to potential danger. It's one thing to be optimistic, however we can't view everything with rose coloured glasses all the time.

An optimistic view, with a dash of reality is good, rather than a pessimistic view.

When you get started in your home business, it's good to have a pragmatic, yet optimistic approach. Try not to emotionally attach yourself to the outcome, but remember if you do the right things, do them often enough and do them well, things will work out fine.

Don't worry about what you think could happen.

Have faith in your own abilities and go for it. Only today matters right now.

The future is largely out of our hands, so we need to make sure we get the most of of today.

Life your life now, in this moment, and don't be scared to.

It's ok to make mistakes at first, that's how we learn.

For me, it's all about living in the moment.
