My father was left-handed. But when he was a child, he struggled to make his right hand do whatever it is that his left hand can. He managed to do it. My father managed to be an ambi dexterous. He was skillful with both his hands and was good in the arts. My mom was a left-handed person too! She like tinkering with things and drawing.
People say that left-handed people are more talented than right-handed people. Most left-handed people are good in math. That is exactly what I am. As a kid, my father and mother noticed that I used my left hand to do just about anything. They tried to correct it by placing the spoon in my right hand, or placing my pencil in my right hand, etc. Their efforts prpved to be unsuccessful.
When I graduated high school, my parents cannot completely afford to send me to college. I was good in Math, but compared with other Math whiz, I was just average. Some students were way better. So when I tried to get a scholarship for Math, I failed. This was until a friend of mine told me all about a left handed scholarships. I was amazed to find out that one can actually get college financing just for being left-handed.
When I applied, I got a 50% scholarship instantly. Now, I am on my way to college without any fear of dropping out for lack of finances. when I told my sister about this scholarship, she was excited and kissed me. She is graduating high school in a year and will be off to start college. Coming from a hard up family, she will surely have the same problem. But college is not something we should be worrying over, thanks to a scholarship suited for our quality.
It was funny to know that aside from left handed scholarships. There are other forms of wacky scholarships too. Some institutions actually offer scholarships for vegetarian students. There is also a $1,000 scholarship for those good at duck-calling. If you think that your last name sound weird or difficult to pronounce, you can get a scholarship for that too. Now, getting a scholarship is not only for those who excel academically because there are weird scholarships which can also help ordinary people like me.
