Should We Go Public?

By Jordan Pillip

Have you been to a private school verses a public school- what is the one thing you notice the most when walking down the hall as all the children are changing class rooms, or heading to lunch?

No there is still allot of noise, boys will still tease girls, girls will still stop to gossip, and maybe someone will trip on someone or something, you might even hear a swear word or too but really there is a difference between private and public schools, it's what they are wearing.

Funding in public schools has always been a challenge as the schools are typically funded by the states homeowners. If you have a state with more children per household you could expect the taxes to be higher, but not much; the elderly don't want to pay more for property taxes to help fund "Ms. Jones"- 10 kids through public school, so the debate on a tax increase to add funding to education will always be a debate.

Another good reason why dress code rules and uniforms are a good idea is that kids are more likely to wear modest clothing and that is good for the faculty and the student body itself. With immodest clothing it can lead to inappropriate behavior from the, student body and or the faculty.

Students now days are busier than ever and are lucky if they can get more than five hours of sleep a night, with school, a job, spending time with their friends, and any extra curricular activities such as sports, who needs to be worrying about clothes, studying and good academic performance should be the top priority.

It's not getting better but you can survive, shop frugally, keep and stay to a budget and when it comes to shopping for school items shoot for sales, and when clothes shopping stick to basics. This life isn't easy but any education you receive will put you that much farther ahead in life so don't give up.
