How Popular Is The Halloween T-Shirt?

By Rick Mills

Every Halloween party season, you see new costumes springing up as different trends become popular. When "The Dark Knight" came out, there was an army of Jokers marching on the party scene. When the now infamous Billy Mays passed away, we saw hundred of blue-shirted and excitable salesmen all over. Halloween t-shirts and costumes have always been topical, but there are some standbys that show up year after year, and it usually seems to be the ladies who fall back on the more traditional costumes.

1. Little kitty cats seem to have some staying power in the world of Halloween costumes. Besides the Halloween t-shirt, the cat costume may be one of the easiest to assemble...which would explain why it remains at the top year after year.

2. People may experience elevated blood pressure, sweats, and increased heart rate when they see the wearer of the next costume, but the wearer may not have the accolades she appears to have as a Halloween nurse. There's something about a naughty nurse costume that captures the hearts (and other organs) of everyone.

3. Why is it that angels became the sex-driven, scantily-clad seductresses that have sprung up in recent years? Is there some Biblical scripture that describes them as wearing lingerie and high heels? Whatever the reason for the angelic host's sexual revolution, I remain thankful.

4. Halloween t-shirts have slowly been replacing the art of costuming during Halloween. While some purists may hate this, the Halloween t-shirt is comfortable and versatile and requires little preparation time, if any. Plus, with the upswing in humorous Halloween t-shirts being worn, there are far more laughs than screams.

5. The sinister witch has risen to massive popular levels over the last few years, but the sinister has quickly been replaced by the sexy. No more crooked noses and blackened teeth for these seductive spellcasters.

Halloween is a good time for all, but it's been growing in attendance amongst adults every year. Halloween t-shirts may be overtaking the costumes in common usage, but that doesn't mean that the spirit of Halloween is dampened...in fact, those spirits may be more restless than ever.
