Why Jarred Into Being Could Be A Great Read

By Madeline Finch

The author of Jarred Into Being is Pat Lawrence. At first, something you might not know is that the book is actually written by Pat and her husband Daniel. The main character is Eva Lange, who at first lived a pleasant life. Until the age of 13, she never had a want that was not taken care of. She was a miracle baby to her parents after trying for four years of childlessness.

The parents were considerably affluent and her life was like a fairy tale. A tragic incident hit her family in her thirteenth year. A horrific car accident would leave both her parents dead. The only belongings were sold and the money entrusted to Eva. The only relative that was left was Aunt Loretta. To her mother, her aunt was unreliable as well as wild.

The incident left Eva no option but to go stay with her aunt. This would mean the start of a fresh chapter in life. Here, her life was nothing like a fairy tale. Her life at this point began spiraling downwards. Before, she was an A-grade student. However, this started to change and her exemplary performance was no more.

She became more of a shirker and was later expelled from her school after involvement in all manner of fights. On the other hand, her aunt became jobless. She turned to supporting herself with what was left of the trust money belonging to Eva. In a short while, she announced that she had become pregnant and the father of the child was reserved to taking care of it.

After the child is born, Eva is forced to play mom to the baby of her aunt. This book further goes on being dramatic and horrific at the same time. Her aunt, Loretta, would later on, run off to get away from the mess in her life. Eva remains wholly embroiled in the whole affair, where she has to fend for the baby and herself. Eva maintains a strong will and is still determined to build a better life.

Eva is no stranger to people close to her capitalizing on her naivety. At one point in her life, she meets Rafael and they fall in love. Their relationship does not last long and are soon after separated. She also meets Albert Sr., who plays a fatherly role. He attempts to fulfill her desire for a father figure. The book has a cryptic constellation of characters, many of whom keep on pulling Eva back to the abyss.

The story has many ups and downs. The book excites you not to put it down, but to keep reading to the end. For parents, the book is not suitable for everyone. It has a lot of valor and sexual abuses. The main advantage with it is that it is easy to follow.

As a reader, you will find Jarred Into Being hard to let go. Its engaging qualities will keep you wanting to know what will happen next. You will also be upset about not being in a position to help the little girl who has the duty of carrying the entire weight of the world on her shoulders. This is not a book for the feeble hearted.
