Taking On Tokyo- Where Tourists Should Go

By Freddy McCandless

Off to Japan for your next vacation? If you happen to swing by Tokyo, then here are three areas that you positively must drop by. So go on and take a closer look.

Ginza

Ginza is certainly one area that you should really visit. And the best time to go would have to be at night so that you could see all of the neon signs at its best, make that at its brightest. You can't miss any of the primary intersections as they are riddled with them shining even brighter than the day. You may do a lot of shopping here, haggle and get a good deal, not to mention all of great Japanese food around.

Asakusa

Asakusa is in fact the more historical side to the ever techy tokyo. With hardly any major changes, this spot looks pretty much just like it did years and years ago. Of course there have been some adjustments and a whole lot of repairs, but it really does stay true to its Japanese heritage and roots. The Sensoji Temple is definitely the highlight. Because of this simple beauty of this Buddhist temple, it is definitely becoming a top tourist hot spot. Nakamise, the shopping street, definitely makes this area a must see. You will get about 200 meters of shops where you could find the perfect souvenir be it a folding fan some yukatas and T-shirts. There are also tons of little kiosks that sell traditional Japanese street food like Osenbie, which are rice crackers, and kibi balls- a definite must try.

Akihabara

Akihabara is in fact a tech savvy sanctuary. You will find shop after shop that sell gadget after gadget. But before you buy, you better check if it holds the same power supply as the one you have back home. But even if electronics are not your thing, there are also sensational anime shops that are worth taking a look at, since that is a big part of the Japanese culture after all. Plus, you will probably be able to find some interesting Japanese goods that you won't be able to get in other parts of the country.
