50 Shades Darker Book Summary From The 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy

By Mary Williams

The 2nd book from the 50 shades of grey trilogy takes off from the first book where Ana and Christian Grey split up. At this time, Ana begins the job at the posting company where she was hired in the previous book. She decides to keep her mind on herself and concentrate on her job. Obviously, Christian had something else in mind. He's so in love with Ana that he was even willing to purchase the publishing company that employed her.

He was going to have complete control of Ana one way or another. He understood that in order for his plan to work, he needed to seize control of her existence. By him controlling everything she did, he could eventually seize control of her. Also, he decides to temporarily put the brakes on the submissive contract, because he recognizes that it did not work in his favor during the first book. All he wanted was Ana and was willing to have her at any cost. This is why he chose not to push the contract. Despite his love for Ana, it was still a very hard thing for him to do because he had the submissive mindset due to his past relationships. He was also extremely secretive on the matter. He focused all his might on hiding his past from Ana. This is why she and her friend at one point thought he was gay. They had never seen him with any women before.

Meanwhile, Ana feels special because he actually allowed her to be in a picture with him. As time goes on, Ana slowly starts to realize that she is falling deeply in love with Christian. She comes to terms with the fact that it's not just the huge attraction and passion that draws her to him, it's everything. As time passes, Christian continues to let Ana in his life and constantly showers her with glamorous gifts. At this point Ana makes the choice to get back with Grey.

In spite of Christian's best attempts to hide his past, Ana manages to find out about his submissive tendencies by probing his mom and his shrink. To make things worse, one of Christian's ex submissive girlfriends pays him a spontaneous visit. She arrives with a violent mindset towards him and Ana. It's not really clear why she chose to suddenly pop up or what it was she was hoping to accomplish.

The point is that she was not very happy and even went as far as to paint Ana's car and slash her tires. The tension elevates even more when Christian discovers that she had purchased a gun permit. Ana is then faced with having to deal with her own anger and envy towards Christian's previous partner. This leaves her having to decide on the most important decision of her life.
