How about Your Wedding Dress, Buy or Tailor Mother's?

A good rental company will keep everything pretty worry free for you, so you won't have to sweat the possibility of your dress getting ruined. Prices vary place to place, so you'll have to just check them out, but you will save hundreds compared to buying a new dress.

Answer: it is a beautiful dress from davits bridal. My mom has been sewing clothes all her life so she did my measurements and she will fix anything. I would not recommend going to a bridal shop and telling them your plans. They work on commission so they will do everything to talk you out of it. At hate they give a good description of what measurements they need, you could probably have a friend do it for you.

Buy something at a reasonable and affordable price. You can find a great dress within a small budget. Don't rent your dress, make it unique and buy it just for you. It's your special day and even if you don't wear it again, it's a memory you will always have with you, not to mention in all of your lovely pictures! When you rent a gown, I doubt that you have fittings, etc., because that gown will need to be rented to someone else. Also, I think you are charged a cleaning fee. But, this is a decision that you have to make. To be quite honest, I would rather buy a gown off of EBay and have it cleaned and get it fitted to fit me perfectly.

That is very much up to her. Since the dresses she likes are in the $100-200 range, and the mothers dress would have to be altered so drastically, it would cost about the same for either. This should be her choice, whether she wants to honor her mom on her wedding day by wearing her dress, or wants to wear something more her taste and honor her mom in a different way. Either way, you'll be shelling out about the same amount, so cost should be on the bottom of the list on making her decision.

That way you can pass it on. Not to mention that it would take care of something new. (Of course renting one could be considered something borrowed.) You don't have to spend a TON of money. Check out David's Bridal during a sale. Also check out JC Penny. They are pretty reasonable. You probably know that when you buy a gown, you are measured, and they order the gown in your closest size. But even then...most brides need a "little tweak here" and a "little tweak there," so you end up (hopefully!) with a gown that is perfect for YOU!
