Selecting The Appropriate Wedding Wear For The Guest

By Mark Richards

Receiving an invitation for a wedding is a common occurrence for everyone. It could be a union of one of the members of your family, a friend or even one of your office-mate. Should they invite you to attend their wedding it simply implies that they value your presence to witness one of the most important events of their life. Hence, it is but proper to return the courtesy by attending the celebration with an appropriate wedding wear.

Generally the usual concern of the guest is the proper wedding wear to use on the event. This is understandable as nobody wants to look different amongst the other guests by being over dressed or under dressed. If the dress code for the wedding ceremony is not indicated on the invitation card it is advisable to ask the host directly. This is very important as it has been a common mistake for some to ask friends on what they will wear instead of asking the host or the wedding coordinator for the right information.

However, if the host is unreachable to reply to questions as they must have been already occupied with all the preparation of their wedding then your very own best judgment is the only thing to rely on. Considering the venue as well as the time of the wedding will in some way gives you an idea on the appropriate wedding wear to use. For instance a beach wedding to be held early morning will most likely require a more casual attire as compared to an evening wedding reception celebrated in a five star hotel. Another advice to consider is to take a look of the invitation card provided for you. Was it done in a casual style or maybe on a more formal approach? By considering this you can have a notion on the taste of the bride and groom on how their own wedding should take place.

Another aspect the guest can look at when selecting a wedding wear is to determine if the couple has a colour motif for their wedding. As mentioned, the invitation card is the best method to determine all this. It is definitely acceptable if you come wearing the same colour tone as that of the bridal party as it will make you look coordinated with them. The single thing to avoid is to come in white. Because on the wedding it is actually expected that only the bride should be in white. So it's not proper if you will share the same limelight with her.

A wedding is one of the best occasions in life that any person can celebrate. This is the reason why the bride and groom personally handpick the people who will come to share that momentous event with them. Thus as a sign of gratitude to the couple for inviting you it is imperative that all guests should come at their most suitable wedding wear to truly make the day for the couple as special as it can be.
