Don't run away from the advice of people who love you. Of course, their advice may not always be correct, but it doesn't hurt to listen to what they have to say and you may just learn something very important about yourself. It is often difficult for humans to see ourselves the way we truly are.

It is important to understand that the beliefs you have are critically important when it comes to personal development. The type of beliefs you hold affect the thoughts you have, the way you live, how you view other people and how other people view you. Beliefs affect every aspect of your life and if you want to develop to your fullest potential, you must recognize and change the beliefs you hold which are harmful to your life.

Do what you love. Most people think that going where the money is will help them reach their goals. This could not be furthest from the truth. The most successful people in the world became successful by doing what they love. Even if your personal goals are not career or money orientated, having something you are passionate about - even if it is only as a hobby - is the key to true happiness.

A great self help tip is to not stay indoors for too long. When you keep yourself cooped up indoors, you can become quickly become isolated and very depressed. It may be hard, but try forcing yourself to go outside every day just to get out of the house.

Eternal life is not just for when you die. Eternal life is for us to start living now while you are still on Earth. God gives us the joy of salvation for us to experience it here on Earth as we transition to spending the rest of eternity with him.

Align your purpose in life with your true desire. This process can be boiled down to four simple questions: What do you desire to do? What are you able to do? What purpose should you seek? And what do you absolutely need to do? Alignment is difficult until you answer each of these questions and then act on each of those answers to bring these areas into balance and alignment with each other.

Work on discovering your personal strengths. Try making a list of the ones you know and try making a list of your weaknesses that hold you back from being the strong person that you think you are or could be. Even opinions from others, like friends or family, can give you some insight on how to better yourself.

In order to gain true personal development you have to make sure you take in and digest the bulk of the information you just learned. You not only want to make sure you remember everything you just learned but you want to also make sure you apply your new knowledge properly, only then can you see true personal development.
