Regale in the Glory of the Ancient Monuments, The most beautiful of the world's ancient city, Rome is replete with priceless collection of art, paintings, museums, palaces, churches, basilicas, parks and theaters. This most visited city, replete with popular tourist attractions is visited by more than 19.5 million holiday makers from all across the world. With most of popular airlines giving cheap tickets to Rome and interesting flight deals- all you have to do is to grab them early and make the make the most.

The Colosseum is an amazing feat of Roman architecture and was used for gladiatorial battles and contests. It could once hold 50,000 spectators, but has been damaged in recent times, meaning a large section of the structure is missing. No trip to Rome is complete without visiting this historic and iconic building which gives a fantastic glimpse at more savage times. The Vatican City is the world's smallest independent state and definitely worth a trip whenever you visit Rome. Whilst many choose traditional tours around the city, one of the most popular in recent times has been the 'Angels and Demons' walking tour that takes you around the areas mentioned in the famous book and in the hit Hollywood movie.

The Sistine Chapel is home to some beautiful images, including the 'Creation of Adam' by Michelangelo on the ceiling of the chapel and the 'The Last Judgement', also by Michelangelo. Despite the fact that the chapel is usually very crowded, it is definitely worth a visit to see some of these classic masterpieces in person. If you enjoy your attractions a bit spooky and creepy, then a trip to the Cappuchin Crypt is in order. This attraction sits beneath a church and features bones from 4000 friars (monks). Whilst the crypt may look like something from a horror movie, the bones are said to be a "silent reminder of the swift passage of life on earth".

Along with these famous attractions in Rome, just strolling around the streets and visiting shops and cafes can be a wonderful way to spend a day. Remember to stop by the Trevi Fountain to toss in a coin and grant you safe return to the city.

You can also enjoy a walk in the Piazza di spagna, Campo dei fiori where you will also find the Roman fruit and vegetable market and of course do not miss out the piazza del popolo or the people's square- the largest one of Italy. This remains the most majestic of Rome's square and you will love enjoy the 3 churches and fountain located here. The Egyptian tall obelisk standing out adds an old world charm to the bustling square. You will also love to stroll around the numerous small stalls and cafeterias that serve tasty delights.
