Finally The Good Stuff - Good Digital Camera Critique

Also, no external battery charger, so you have connect it with its door open to charge it - not ideal for keeping dust and dirt out of the waterproof compartment. Its overall design and build are not impressive.

The way to reproduce the problem is to take a towel or a slightly damp fingertip and gently sweep downward. The metal screen will move and stay in the mid position you leave it rather than bounce back up when released to assume it position to protect the screen. You only have to be a few inches away for it to focus. There are many different options with this camera. All I have to do now is wait for my little Cannon Powershot to kick the bucket, Ok so I did some shopping around before I decided on this camera because my old camera broke. Though this camera was more expensive than some of the other camera's I looked at, I chose this one for a couple of reason's over the others: 1.

It uses a standard SD card. The old version used a smaller version which meant I couldn't swap them out with other cameras (yes, we own several different digital cameras.) The camera is pretty great. There is so much packed into this point and shoot camera that you've got to sit down for about a half an hour to an hour and learn how to use it. It's not rocket science but there are some things you need to learn how to use. It took me 3 calls to tech support to find this out. Great camera because of its survivable attributes! It's highly recommended if it fulfills your needs.

It beeped 12 times and then shutdown whenever it was turned on. I am returning it to Olympus to get fixed but, when I buy something, I expect it to work out of the box.

All in all, it's a great camera. Battery life was long. So, save your money and either buy another brand or just rent an underwater camera at one of the drive shops. When I got the camera in the mail I took it with me on a fishing trip.

This model has a couple of serious problems that irritates us. First, when we push on button, the lens door open immediately but the camera is not available to take.

I used it 3 times under water up to 20 feet no problem. The pictures come out crystal clear.

Having lost my last Stylus Tough, I upgraded to this model. While, I still think it is a good niche product, the startup time is terrible, and it does appear to take much longer to focus and snap pictures. Maybe because of that I leave it on a lot and that's why the battery runs out! This camera is amazing.
