Note: Has No Or Poor Ambient Daylight Detection - Contemporary Outdoor Lighting Review

By Kaylee Johnson

You need to unmount it to turn it off. It kind of looks like a burglar camera which I like as a crime deterrent. To date the solar driveway light really works great - it was simple to set up and puts out a pleasant light.

As I mentioned previously, my light isn't exposed to any immediate moisture at all - it is hung on my porch roof which has an eave that extends down one foot in the roof line and the light is mounted in the corner. Great deal. Despite reading some crucial reviews I got myself this product and was able to get it ready to go in under a minute. I am happy with this light. The outdoor security lights offer lots of light!

I installed it and was extremely dissatisfied. I removed battery and threw the pir lights in the garbage. It just sits there and lights up if its darkish and there is movement.

Sure this solar pathway light works as advertised, however the continuous false alarms waste a lot of electricity and can bother you and your neighbours.

The light in the LEDs is very effective in these outdoor security lights. The first is located in a little closet and it was very exciting when, after closing the small curtains, the light went off! Dunno if the fall caused it to fall short. Held in the palm of the hands it's not bright enough to light up your fingertips. Notice, it only stays on for a few seconds - that is precisely what I needed. I have two areas in my home where I wanted low-level lights to come on instantly when somebody entered the space, but did not want to go to the expense of hard-wiring. Fantastic illumination with no issue of glare but the motion sensoring was rather minimum.

I tried to aim one of these simple lights up them and down, however they ended up shining in your face in either case.

It seemed like a great buy and then it filled with water when it rained and stopped operating. It's brighter than the usual little nightlight, although not like a floodlight. I have this solar spot light set up in a closet area to have an occasional source of light, and it works great. If you wish to aim it in a path other than facing straight down, then the positioning is on the loose side. They're very helpful. Other than the deceptive item description, and the inadequate placement of the switch, I'd say that this solar spot light does put out a respectable amount of light.

I just needed low-level, motion-activated lights - there you have it. These solar step lights have again filled with water. The journey down the hall continues to be turn on a light or carry a flashlight for part of the way.
