When it is working it is great but they break too easily, it is too sensitive and therefore cheaply made, but for some reason they cost 50 bucks a pop. All 3 of my fans have the same problem $150 total loss unless I can get them repaired by the manufacturer. Very nice fan, but it doesn't come from Amazon and the Handy Cooler folks really charge a lot for shipping! (They also tried to charge me almost 5 bucks "sales tax" before they even knew where I lived!) This is a great product!
I would add some moisture to the dry air, and cool me down to my comfort level. It's almost like having a cool breeze coming in from the window. There is no heavy gust, just a very consistent breeze. I am hoping to open a nail salon soon, and will purchase a few handy coolers first because I can't afford to spend a thousand dollars on a few drying machines. After about three months it stopped working apparently the connection to the motor wasn't very good. I called the USA office and asked for a replacement and in just a couple days I had one shipped out and I only had to pay for shipping. It�s not a complicated mini air conditioner but it works. I've tried using the small air conditioners that you put ice in and it doesn't work very well, the ice melts and you end up soaking your desk with water. We've tried the mini fans battery operated fans, the spray bottles with fans, ice packs and chairs with shade, some of them help but needless to say it is still hot. We love the Handy Cooler.
We ordered this fan after reading another on-line review. It lives up to its reputation....it is quiet and gives a good strong breeze.
This is a quality product. So I bought this because I had read so many good things about it on the other reviews. Speaking of distraction, this thing is LOUD. Using it in a quiet office makes a lot of noise. The sponge smells a little when you first turn it on but you get used to it. The strap is awkwardly placed and the speed dial is located too low for my normal thumb placement.
After using it for a week, the device seems to get louder, it makes these grumbling noises as if the motor is slowing down then picking up pace. I really don't think the motor is going to last more than a year. The air is cooler than any fan you can purchase due to the unique way it cools. It is easy to use and you can re wet the filter at any time to keep it running as cool as can be.
I think I made a few sales. Within 20 minutes I had wrung out my headband and stashed it away for the last time that day.
