Get New Readers for Your Blog

By Hitesh Patel

Popular blogs are always full of activity as readers of the blog leave comments, talk about the blog, share it with others and help it become important to the rest of your blogging community. So the real question that arises, then, is this: why are some blogs experiencing so much interest from their target audiences while others don't get to enjoy the fun of a loyal readership? Why do some blogs look like they always get all of the attention while others barely get any attention at all? The answer to these questions is, basically, traction; blogs that actually put real effort into getting more readers actually enjoy higher traction levels than the others that put less effort into building their readership; it really is that simple. Here are a few ideas that are easy to understand and that will help you gain more readers for your blog without having to turn yourself inside out.

There are all sorts of ways to get people to visit a blog at least once but that's not the point; what you want is to turn those one timers into loyal readers who return to the blog again and again. One way to do this is to gain more RSS subscribers, and in order to do that you need to educate your visitors/readers about the benefits of subscribing to your blog via RSS, and giving them a fair idea as to how it works.

In order to consistently get new readers for your blog, you'll need to put an honest and persistent effort in to your project because it is obvious that you aren't going to go very far. It is important to figure out how to bring in lots of new blog readers without allowing yourself to compromise on your blog's quality. There's just so much you can achieve from your blog if you simply learn the art of persistence. Don't worry if you aren't seeing any major successes coming your way right now; if you stick to your goals, you'll find that progress does happen and that your big day keeps getting closer.

Networking is very important when you want to be a successful blogger, you'll see this in real life when you talk to, work with and ask questions to other bloggers. Try to find moderate bloggers--not super successful ones--because your goals here are to properly leverage the network that has already been built by these bloggers to help you get more readers for your own blog. Try to be subtle when you do this instead of aggressive.

There is just so much that you can do to help your blog grow when it comes to driving your traffic and finding new readers but the thing you first need to provide consistently is value. When your target audience starts to think highly of your blog and knows that it is a source of fantastic content, everything else will just fall automatically into place. So what have you been waiting for? Get out there and start putting these tips and tricks into action to get more readers flowing in to your site.
