The Perfect Evening Gown For The Perfect Occasion

By Florian Jackson

Every woman has to feel beautiful always. She may be the head of the household, the big boss in an office, a skilled mechanic and accountant at the same time, or even the top of her class, but when the situation requires it, she can appear and feel as womanly as she is. Wearing classy evening gown during formal functions is one of those times. And as few as the events come, she needs to feel at her best all the time.

What a woman puts on can either make her feel poised or uncomfortable. During formal assemblies when she needs to stand out, her evening dress should make her feel gorgeous and at her finest.

It's nearly impossible to go wrong with the classic little black dress, but it won't hurt to wear something with color and diversity every so often. There are a few rules you must observe in picking out the right evening gown for you.

The first thing you need to remember is that not all evening dresses are proper for each formal gala. Some parties expressly ask their guests to wear certain colors, while some require more conservative cut than others. Say the event is your grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary. Skip the sexily-cut dresses and just go for stylish and classy without flaunting too much skin. The same goes for other family events or for corporate-organized formal events.

For budget-conscious and practical women, it is absolutely okay to get a ready-to-wear as opposed to custom-made. Go to specialty shops or online dress shops to look for your perfect dress. And to make it a perfect fit, make sure you have it cut. Wearing a poor-fitting gown would just make you feel dowdy.

Don't feel bad if the dress Heidi Klum walked down the runway in doesn't look stunning on you. What looks great on others may just be average on you. We all have various body figures and sizes. Other girls may look great in short, empire-cut dress, while others are stunning in long, balloon-skirt dresses. Find the gown that stresses your best features and downplays your least fine parts.

Also, the color of the gown can make or break the entire effect. Pick the gown that best complements your skin tone. Your fair coloring may appear ashen in certain tints. There are also colors that commonly look fine, but appear tasteless during certain events. Yellow appears too glaring in a black-and-white function. Also, black and red lace together can look tasteless on some styles.
