By George Dodson

You looked all your life for that special person. Now you found them and it is your first date. As a first date, you thought of a simple dinner date where you will simply cook meal. Hence, you will need to make a decision what to cook.

Before you begin that list of what to pick up at the grocery store there are several things you want to pay attention to. First, you need to know that its not a date at the restaurant. An expert will also not be the one preparing your meal. And, there is no need to fret. Make sure you decide exactly what it is you're going to cook, the price of the ingredients, and whatever you'll need to prepare the meal.

Another thing to consider is that you should focus on a quality time on your first date. Find out what that others favorite food is. Perhaps you could discover their favorite restaurant. Be sure to find out what it is they don't like. For sure, you wouldn't want the other person not eating for a dinner date just because he or she doesn't like the food. You can ask directly or you can do it in a subtle manner. Open the topic about food and carefully ask what he or she dislikes.

You can also think of a meal that both of you can simply prepare or cool. Have a definite plan regarding this idea. That way when it comes time to cook you'll have thought out all the procedures necessary to make it a pleasant experience. Creative thinking can come in handy in this regard. There are lot of food selections that you can choose which are easy to prepare but yet delicious. A few of which are sushi as well as vegetable salads.

Having to ask your date to bring something is also a good idea. Wine, dessert or appetizer are the best things that the other person can bring on your date. You can ask them to bring a thing that can prolong the conversation. Through this you'll be able to avoid being distracted because of the wrong items to bring like a case of beer, toys, etc.

You will also have to consider a food that is easy to eat. You'll want something preferably that tends to stir conversation. Besides, the cooking is only a cover up for you to get to know each other better.

You also need to take into considerations the little dishes. Layout several dishes with such things as olives, cheeses, meats, pita bread, pickles, and other items. That is actually quite an interesting meal. You both doing the same thing in preparing whatever it is you going to eat.

You should avoid those meals that takes too long to prepare whenever you are planning to cook for a dinner date. You want to spend more time talking to the other person and knowing more about him or her. Involving that person in the preparation of whatever you're cooking tends to avoid this problem as you can converse while you're cooking.

Lastly, dating is knowing the other person. The food is merely a tool to get to know each other better. You should think that failures as well as mistakes in dates is very much a common thing. You can talk about pretty much anything. If you focus on the thing that matters, this should go very well.
