Whether you are attending as a student or someone hunting for interesting entertainment you won?t find in a NY City hotel guide to the town, New York University has 1 or 2 yearly events that you'll look forward to year by year. They offer a little something for everybody while at the same time broadening your mind while having a great time. Check out all of these events and you'll enjoy what these New York University events have on offer.

Strawberry Festival

The Strawberry Festival, now in it's 26th year, brings together students, faculty and staff to this enduring event each spring. Succulent food, live music, and carnival games are part of the excitement of this yearly event. It also may include the longest strawberry shortcake in the world! The event is open to the public and is constantly held on La Guardia place, just south of Washington Park. This is undoubtedly one of the famous events at New York University you don't want to miss!

World Science Festival

The World Science Festival, hosted by New York University each June, brings a collection of 50 activities and events over 5 days which feature varied systematic disciplines starting from astronomy to neuroscience, genetics to robotics. The best of systematic minds around the planet will be there to celebrate all angles of science. There will also be dance, music and the arts included to round out this holiday. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Week

The yearly Martin Luther King Jr. celebration week honors Dr. King's visit to New York University on Feb. 10, 1961, by providing a weeklong schedule of specialized events and programs each Feb. A featured event is held at the Skirball Center for Performing Arts, as well as guest lectures, panels and talks on campus, art exhibitions and Week of Service volunteer possibilities. This comprises the AMC (Executive Management Council's) Badly behaved Knitters and Cunning Crocheters workshop, which knits and crochets hats for and scarves for local seniors.
