Maybe its time to sell your used forklift, because your needs have changed or maybe its just time to upgrade to something better. There are a lot of different ways to sell a used forklift, either through a trade in to a dealer or a private sale, Here are some tips to consider

1. Know what its worth

Try into work out what to sell your used forklift for, can be a daunting thing to do. You wont sell a $10000 Hyster H2.50DX forklift for $20000. Work out what its worth first, trying talking to your dealer, or visit our listing page to search for similar makes and models as the used forklift your try to sell.

2. Set a budget for selling

Set you budget for selling before you start the process, selling is a forklift is just like selling a car. Depnding on what method you use, such as ebay, forkliftmarke.com.au or a newspaper. Set a budget, because you don't want to spend $1000 when a $60 online ad will do the trick.

3. Make sure you know the condition you are selling it in

Private sales are a little different, you need to make sure all the safety features work, but selling it as is where is, in the usual norm. if you are dealer, you need to consider offering warranty, and do you paint it. Just remember to clarify what the condition is you are selling it in.

4. Hit your money target

Ok this might seem like a no braininer, but you will be surprised. its just like anything, when you sell, make sure you get the money from the purchaser. At a minimum make sure you get a deposit, then once your are ready to proceed, get the remaining money before giving the keys over.

5. Keeping service records

Its all ways a good idea to give the buyer a copy of your service records, It can generate trust and show your not hiding anything that might be majorly wrong with your forklift.
