Establishing a Wireless Signal in your home does not have to be a Difficult task

A wireless router is an important piece of equipment if you wish to access the Internet without wires. Dealing with tangled wires is a pain in the butt which is why wireless technology is so much better.

If you own a laptop, you most certainly need a wireless signal in your home. The convenience of accessing the Internet anywhere in your home shouldn't be overlooked. Every wireless router has a standard signal range.

If you're planning on installing a wireless router in your home, here are some basic guidelines to follow. Just decide which brand of wireless router you want buy and then follow our instructions.

Wireless routers are manufactured by several different companies. Speed and technology are the main differences. If you want the flexibility to use any wireless device, computer or phone, you'll want to use 802.11g technology.

When using wi-fi you'll want to make sure your computer or phone supports a wireless signal. There is a chance your computer doesn't support wi-fi so you may need to equip your computer with a USB wi-fi adapter that can pick up the wireless signal.

Every major brand of laptop computer supports a wi-fi signal. Unplugging your modem is the next step in preparing your wireless signal for use.

To connect your modem to the router, simply plug in the cat 5 cable into the Internet ports on both the modem and router. The next step is to turn on your computer.

Once everything is powered up and running, you will see your computer automatically connect to the router. The very first time you set up your network, you want to set up your user-name and password to prevent hackers from accessing your signal. This is pretty much all there is to setting up your home or office wireless network.
