Are the 12 tribes found in the New Testament? I asked that question because what we typically see are gentiles and Jews. We are constantly looking for the 12 tribes when they are right here:
1Pe 1:1, Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, to the elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father.
Peter said "to the strangers" the word in Hebrew is Gois, to the gentiles scattered throughout Pontus and he says to the elect. There are two things I want to point out, the word Galatia there, we know that now the book of Galatians is written probably to those that are scattered, the northern kingdom. They were lots of northern kingdom Israelite that settled into Galatia. We know that for a fact. They can't be possibly be pagan gentiles because Peter tells us right here, this was scattered and we already know and learned that the word scattered and disbursed is coming right from the northern kingdom. The second thing I want to mention is this, books that are written on predestination and the doctrine of election, I am going to solve it for you in the shortest way possible. God picked His people and elected them. They went away from His word; they went away from His commandment. He has gathered them into all the nations and he predestined them to come back. Done, there you go. That's the shortest possible version.
Book of James says this in the very first verse he says James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the 12 tribes which are scattered abroad, greetings. (Jas 1:1) But we don't understand the concept of the 12 tribes so we go right through this verse. Have you ever wondered why pagan gentiles that hated the Jews would so readily accept a "Jewish" Messiah?
And all of a sudden they just instantly bow to this message of the gospel? Or was the good news a little bit different than we thought? We'll find out. The answer is because they were not pagan gentiles. You see there are two types of gentiles that were mentioned in our scriptures, we just have to look at it carefully. The first one is pagan gentiles and the second one is Israelite gentiles.
The very one that were prophesied that would get into the nations and become the fullness of the gentiles. They would walk among the gentiles. They would lose their identity and He would pull them back when the Sabbath day comes.
