Don't Buy This Product - Low Profile Air Conditioner Critique

By Jordan Martinez

It's not much better than one of those fans you get at the dollar store. You have to be about 5 inches away to feel any cooling effect (which is minimal at best). It is a bit pricey, but IMO it's worth it. I get hot flash attacks 3-4 times a day and god knows how annoying it could be! The unit has a sponge-material filter (which you need to wet) and after turning it on, it pulls air through the filter, cooling the air down before blowing it at you. It's a really cool concept.

Anyway my point is that the handy cooler is great for at home use - my wife and I use it when we're watching a movie on the couch or I place it next to the bed while I sleep. This fan is perfect for drying your nails after a manicure!

I have used it both indoors and out. The batteries seem to last, but I have now ordered the AC adapter to use whenever possible.

I needed a fan for my college dorm. I saw this in the tech review mag last year and thought I'd give it a shot and bought it. Temperatures have gotten surprisingly hot so early this year. The Handy Cooler cools you down quite well and is easy to use.

You can carry it around with you but when you wish to do things like cook in the kitchen or work on the computer, you can set it on a table in front of you and it will cool not only yourself but the air around you without the device falling all over the place. When the weather becomes REALLY hot (I am talking about 90+ degrees) I agree that this product will get replaced by the air-con that can cool the rest of the family and the house as well, however this product is fantastic as a self-cooler. Otherwise, a great little mini air conditioner, that runs on batteries! I took this on my trip to Disneyworld in Florida and we are glad we bought this with us!

It's easy to pack and not heavy so you can bring it everywhere. If you use it at home, you can take out the batteries and plug in a USB cable that it comes with. Obviously it is not as strong as air conditioning, but it is saving me a lot in bills. Not only that, but I am no longer having the problem where I am hot and sweaty before I sleep so I turn on the air conditioning to 12 degrees before I sleep and wake up with my teeth chattering and a sniffly nose...no, the handy cooler provides the perfect amount of cooling off that doesn't overdo it like air conditioning does. There is something wrong with the switch - it won't come back on at all. It has been too long since I bought it so I don't think I can get a refund or a new one. This feels solid. It looks nice. I bought two and used them both on the trip therefore not allowing me to get any of my money back and it leaves me with two useless items. Good luck to those of you looking for a way to keep your car cool and should you find one, LET ME KNOW PLEASE, Purchased 3 of these for a trip. Price was right, and it does the job! This little thing is powerful and easy to carry around.
