A Few Of The Greatest Movies From The Incredibly Talented Thespian, Ethan Hawke

By Charles Smith

Plain and simple, Ethan Hawke is one of the more interesting actors in the movie industry. I wouldn't call him reclusive, but you don't really hear about him unless he has a movie coming out. Imagine if all actors were this way. When you do hear about him, however, it's usually because his movie is getting good (or bad) reviews.

But what are his best movies? Here are some of my favorite films that have starred or featured Ethan Hawke.

The first movie that I will discuss is Training Day. This movie was directed by Antoine Fuqua and features a rookie cop (played by Hawke) on his first day of the job with his corrupt partner (played by Denzel Washington). An incredibly entertaining film.

Another movie that I really liked was Lord Of War. This movie did not get the press it deserved, but I thought it was very well done. Nicholas Cage stars as an arms dealer named Yuri Orlov, who is singlehandedly supplying guns to fund African wars. Hawke plays the FBI agent looking to bring him down.

One movie that I really liked was Daybreakers. This vampire movie came out recently and departs from other movies in the genre, as it takes place in a future where humans are going extinct. Pretty interesting concept.

One of Ethan Hawke's oldest films still remains one of his best. I am of course, talking about the 1989 classic Dead Poet's Society. This is an incredible and inspirational film that also stars Robin Williams in one of his best roles.

The last movie to make the cut for me is Gattaca. If you enjoy science fiction movies, then Gattaca is a must see. This film also stars Jude Law and Uma Thurman.

There is no doubt after going through Ethan Hawke's best films that there have been some outstanding ones.
