Olathe Landscaping Company Talks Fall vs Spring Planting

By Kris Doddson

Did you know that growing your landscape during the fall time is an ideal time? Most don't think about this. Most of the people just wait around for early spring to return for the landscape to begin. This is a rather prevalent misunderstanding.

Planting the landscaping during the fall season is the ideal. The scorching temperatures of 2012 showed the need for fall landscape planting more than any other year we have seen in an exceedingly long time.

2012 proved to be very harsh for landscaping overall. Some are calling 2012 "Landscaping Apocalypse." We witnessed landscaping clients who had been really dedicated to watering their landscaping and doing the required steps to help keep everything alive lose a lot of their plants. Even the extremely determined landscaping enthusiasts came into fall having a large amount of their landscaping perish.

It turned out to be the spring planted landscape that was taking the hardest hit. An intriguing thing is that there had not been any issues with those who planted during the fall time last year. There is actually a very simple reason why this can be.

You want a solid root system for the plants and autumn planting does just that. If you want your landscaping to thrive and live, a deeply rooted root system is a must. You see, the further your root system goes into the ground, the more water there is. Landscaping with superficial roots will likely have trouble staying alive during the burning summers.

Putting together their landscaping in the spring does not mean your landscaping will die however. Should we have a very good year you'll probably be okay. Even so, this does offer undeniable evidence to the power of fall landscape planting.

Here's a question though, if fall time planted landscape made it through the drought, how well will fall landscaping perform during a year of flourishing? With that said, if you invest in your landscaping right now just before the winter months, you'll have a good deal less needed maintenance and plant watering next spring and summer since the deep soil water will be performing most of the work for you.

In conclusion, the regular misunderstanding that spring landscape planting is the best approach to take just isn't accurate. If you would like a much healthier landscape at the house for the spring and summer pre-winter landscape planting is the best option. And it is always a big plus to not be required to water and do landscape upkeep as much as you should with spring season planting.
