I Designed the Dining Room and Bedroom of a cottage

By Colin Jones

One of the major attractions in Yorkshire, is numerous landmarks as well as beautiful landscapes, that leave many people very happy for there are so many things to do . Depending on whether you are visiting for the first time or not, you will always find tour guides to show you around. This region is famous for trekking as well as cycling and horse riding tours, that are usually preplanned. Visitors also get to engage in a variety of water sports, that include kayaking and canoeing among others. In addition, there are varieties of wildlife and bird species, that draw many people here.

Usually, visiting the dales is an ideal way to enjoy your holiday, due to the fact apart from the activities you'll also get to delight in some great sights of open countryside. In reality, the number of ramblers that come here on holiday is growing each year, with most people keen to see the countryside and also the beautiful countryside. Therefore, you will discover that many of the hotels and guest houses will be fully booked.

Fortunately, I got the chance to create the dining room of a famous fish and chip shop, which is near York. Unlike the numerous castles which have turned into ruins, this castle is very functional. It is found near some beautiful woodland near the higher ground inland , whose history dates back to the Romans and is therefore popular with over seas visitors. This area is typical of rural England as it remains the same after many years. It also has guided tours, these are worth going on however they are booked up a long way in advance.

In terms of the interior, the cottage boasts of spacious rooms, as is evident in the large bedrooms, living room and even the dining room. There are also a number of modern art on the walls that give it a great appeal by effectively creating great atmosphere. In designing the dining room, I brought in an element of both country and English design, by bringing in a farmhouse table with a dark brown finish that was perfectly complimented by modern leather chairs. I also played around with the color to give it a special appeal, while achieving the idea of maintaining the historic element of the old cottage. I also included a coral chandelier, to bring in some contrast because contrast is one of the universal rules for designing. This resulted in one of the best dining designs of all time.

In conclusion, although many of the buildings that have been in existence from previous centuries, have equally old furniture that is reflective of the times, they were made, it is possible to inject some fresh and modern appeal into these cottages. I feel I did a wonderful job designing some custom made wardrobes for the main bedrooms. This will not only keep them from deteriorating, but offers a perfect opportunity to preserve them. Moreover, introducing modern element into these cottages contributes, towards increasing the number of visitors coming, because they would also like to see how the cottages have managed to transform with times, to accommodate some of the modern elements in terms of accessories, furniture and even design.
