The Time To Buy Copper Bullion Is Now

By Patrice McCoy

Traditionally gold and silver have been the things to invest in during hard times. This is a tradition that continues to prove itself as gold prices have hit record highs. The price has gone above fifteen hundred dollars an ounce since man began keeping count. Silver is also experiencing great increases, selling for as high as forty five dollars an ounce. As the world locks into a global economy there is a need for other alternatives. The alternative to consider is to buy copper bullion.

This is not ranked as a precious metal like platinum and gold. It is however a material that can not be renewed. Once it is taken from the earth there will be no more to replace it. As mining continues along with human needs it will one day reach precious status. Today becomes the perfect time to connect with a great investment opportunity.

It currently trades for approximate three dollars and fifty cents a pound. This means an ounce is worth about twenty two cents. This is no where near the level of an ounce of gold. It creates a golden opportunity, pun intended, for someone to begin investing in it. This investment will continue to increase in value over time.

Thieves have begun to focus heavy on this non precious metal. With so many houses vacant due to the housing market debacle crooks are stripping them of their wiring and plumbing and selling for scrap. With the average house containing over four hundred pounds of it, significant dollars could be made. Thieves are even stripping copper from homes that are being occupied. It appears to be precious to some already.

Penny stocks are the less discussed portion of the stock market. These stocks usually trade for a dollar or less. These stocks can increase very significantly. This makes a small investment realize a very high return percentage very easily. Copper is the same as the penny stocks. Fifty dollars of it could have a higher percentage of growth than gold or silver.

With gold, part of the meteoric rise in value could be because of speculators. The same thing is happening with oil. This creates a high level of volatility. Headaches can be reduced by diversifying in a different metal.

The greatest example of it is the Statue of Liberty. Although it was a brown color when it was first erected, it changed to a bluish green color as it began to age. With copper bullion it will go through the same process. The surface will change colors. This will in no way diminish the value of the bullion.

Although the US dollar is the worlds highest trading currency there are concerns that its value will continue to decrease. In the event of a major economic collapse there will be a need to have an acceptable means of bartering with others. There will be bartering needs other than time and talents. This is a great reason to buy copper bullion.
