A Biography Of Matt Dodge

Matt Dodge was born in the year 1987 30th may. He is an American football punter who was first recognized during a junior season playing for his high school. After completion of high school, he went to Appalachian State University as a freshman. This was in 2005 and he played 12 games and then made a transfer to East Carolina University (ECU).

He then joined the pirate team of ECU in 2007. Here, he made a record of 80 punts in that entire season. This made him go down history as the second player to ever achieve this. He later was rated the most performing and best players during the duration he played for the team.

Matt got a lot of awards at the ECU. The year 2008 saw him get ranked 14th nationally after making an average of 43.9 yards for every punt. This player was also listed second in all conference. This player received Blackbeard honor for special teams unit.

The university sports achievement award also selected him as the punting favorites in 2009. The Phil Steele Magazine chose him as the all conference preseason best. He was made an honorable mention national member by a Consensus draft service.

His outstanding performance saw him get drafted by the New York Giants at the seventh round national football league. This was to replace the long time Giants punter who was retiring. Thus on 23rd June, a four year contract with the team was signed. Once while playing a game in December 19th, he made a 36 yard punt which was returned by DeSean Jackson at touch down as the winding minutes of the game. This made the Philadelphia eagles to win the game.

After the loss, Matt Dodge was criticized for not punting ball out of bounds. In 2011 September 3rd after 16 games, the Giants released him and signed a new player for the punter position. This saw him lose his job and is currently he is a free agent.
