Taking Your Webinars to a New Level with Simple Improvements

By Douglas Lamielle

It is essential that you understand there is a lot more going on with webinars than you may realize. It goes back to the old fashioned marketing concept of the oral presentation. Really think about that and let it sink in and then you will see how true it is. You have to use marketing principles as well as concepts for public speaking. In the beginning, it might seem unnerving but you are going to see that things get a whole lot easier. Before your webinars can be successful, you need to learn how to be persistent. They can do a lot for your business bottom line and so they're worth the effort.

Keep in mind that you are giving people great content and you might want to add in an offer at the end. If you like to talk incessantly about everything under the sun to everyone, then you might fail. Like an annoyingly long sales letter, you'll be going round and round without ever making a point. People simply give up and won't read. So you have to trim down what you intend to talk about. The more you streamline things, the less likely it will be for people to die of boredom. People will miss the point because they start daydreaming when you beat around the bush too much. Most people who make webinars understand that there needs to be a visual representation of them. Most of the time this will happen as a set of slides that offer supporting data your audience can read. Also, it is a little boring when all people can do is listen without seeing anything. You do need to follow some certain criteria for your slide presentations though, like with your organization. Limit the amount of information you include on a slide because it can really get in the way of your readers' comprehension. Remember they are listening to and reading the slides at the same time.

You have slides that have information on them including some copy, etc. You know your audience can read because they read your email and followed directions to register. So, it makes little sense for you to read what's in the presentation itself. What if you were reading something and someone else starts reading it out loud? There are people who will be irritated by it and people who won't care but there's a good chance most will find it extremely annoying. You need to make sure you intimately know what you are going to be presenting and have all your materials ready. There's a good chance, though, that you will sound like a grade school student delivering an oral book report if you try to learn your presentation by rote.

Many times one mistake can mess up things when it comes to an email list. Not all of your subscribers will drop off, but you might have a few.

Usually, you will not have too many times that you can make errors with the people who are on your email list. Not all of your subscribers will drop off, but you might have a few. Webinars are a great way to market your products and services to your target market and audience. Even if you haven't used webinars before now, this is a great opportunity to start doing so. As long as you are okay with the idea of stepping outside of your comfort zone, it isn't hard to do a webinar at all. Maybe you have been in the audience at one time or another. So you already understand what they're about.
