Compared to the brain, heart and stomach, many people take the liver very lightly. A lot of people fail to address liver problems in a timely manner and because of this ignorance, death is something that most of them have to deal with sooner than later. What you should know about a fatty liver is that this can cause multiple liver diseases with ease.

The liver is in charge of processing nutrients and it produces bile as well and aside from building protein, this organ is also the one that deals with toxins in our system. Our survival depends on these actions. A number of important bodily functions are handled by the liver so even if this is not the one responsible for nerves and the like, an imbalance can lead to poor health or even death.

The liver also produces a thick, yellowish fluid called the bile. This gooey substance is stored in the gallbladder to help the body digest food, especially fatty foods. Bile is something that ensures that the fats that enter our bodies can be broken down into smaller portions.

Building proteins is another function of the liver and what you have here is a highly important chemical found in human, animal, and plant systems. Aside from proteins which carry essential vitamins to the parts of our bodies, there are other protein types like fibronectin for example that are also created courtesy of the liver. It is also the liver that has the responsibility of seeing to it that the blood accesses these proteins.

Given these four major responsibilities of the liver, it is unthinkable that people don't know what the liver is for and how they should care for it. In America alone, the people continue to delve into activities that have detrimental effects on this particular organ. One of the most common causes that lead to an unhealthy liver is consumption of too much alcohol.

According to research, about 15 million Americans drink too much alcohol, and as a result, about 90-100% of these people have developed fatty liver. For those who are living with fatty livers, they know that it causes fatigue and nausea at times and high blood pressure also comes with it but this is also something that can eventually lead to liver failure. The other major cause for fatty liver is obesity.

During its early stages, this can be reversed. Fatty liver treatment is not at all complicated. The easiest way to help your liver with its rejuvenation is by cutting down on your alcohol intake.

There are times when a lifestyle shift is needed for the liver to rejuvenate. Apart from the alcohol, carbs are also other things that you should watch out for when it comes to this. The easiest way to have a healthy liver and not a fatty liver is to eat fruits and vegetables and steer clear of foods that have a high fat content and those that have been processed to the fullest extent.
