Not Every Vehicle Is Made Just For Driving, So Not All Hankook Tires Are Designed To Be The Same

Every motorist will eventually need to head down to a local retailer that sells Hankook tires for a brand new set, and in the process, they will likely see all the different kinds of wheels for sell and all the different things they are made for. You can find a great deal of treads made for driving around town, others for cruising across the country, and even some that are specially designed or competing in some high-octane motorsports. The fact of the matter is that there is more than just one basic type of tire on the market nowadays and dozens of different reasons why you would choose one or another.

The most prominent type of tire you would come across at a local tire shop is the kind that the majority of consumers purchase for the vehicles they drive back and forth to work and around town every day. It is crucial for drivers to note that there is still a huge difference between various brands and models of these everyday tires and that they can take you almost anywhere you need to go but not quite everywhere. Some treads are only good for driving in normal weather, some are good for wet and icy weather, and some are only good for sixty thousand miles while there are others that can take you more than one hundred thousand miles.

When it comes to motorsports, one of the main sports you would have to have a special tire for is racing, whether it is around a circle track at nearly two hundred miles per hour or down a quarter mile long drag strip. The reason you cannot use normal road tires for high speed racing has to do with the way the treads are designed as well as the way the tires themselves are constructed. When a racer has the correct wheels, they don't have to worry about them spinning out of control every time they try to take off or overheating and coming to pieces before they are even half way around the race track.

Without an amazingly durable tire that has an unbelievable level of grip in natural terrain, anyone who is participating in an off road sport would fall to the back of the pack in no time. Rally cars race around tracks made of nothing but dirt, and these cars need treads that penetrate the dirt enough to get a grip of something solid and keep the vehicle going forward around the track. Some of the more extreme off road treads are even thick enough to get a firm grip in deep mud that normal tires would simply slosh around in until they are completely sunk.

You should also notice that there are a number of tire types that are manufactured for very specific types of vehicles that are made for very particular uses, both for business and for pleasure. When you look over all the different vehicles and driving situations that there are in the world, it is easy to see why there are so many different kinds of Goodyear tires.
