How To Avoid Failure and Embarrassment in Multi-Level Marketing

By Jaxon Slessor

We hear, a lot, that MLM is what initially compels people to the thought of making money on the net. The idea doesn't involve anything complicated. You join a company, as an affiliate, and then for every sale you receive a commission - simple. Ok, so now this company requires you to recruit people, and now whenever these people make sales you'll also receive a bonus commission from them.

Also, whenever someone from your downline sells something, you'll also earn a smaller percentage of their sale. Extra commissions are made when the people you recruited have affiliates who make sales. The dream for very many is to get to the point where they don't have to work, their downline is large enough to sustain their income. Here are some tips for finding success with multi level marketing.

Avoid neglecting to follow up on every lead you get. If someone says "I need time to think" give them time to think. A generally accepted time frame is a few days, or so, and then you can contact them. Very many times the sale is successful because the seller had the initiative to follow-up with the prospect.

It's a mistake to believe that a potential buyer, or prospect will contact you again. In multi level marketing the ball is always in your court. Follow up to make sales! This business rests on the efforts of a team. Not all MLM recruits are sincere, so avoid falling for the line that they'll easily make hundreds of sales a month. Put your focus and time on the members who are able to make sales each month.

What this will do for you is give your team some flexibility should anyone find themselves in a tough month. If you ever try to get power sellers to come on board, just be prepared to spend some time on it. Also consider that all that time and effort you put into doing that could have been spent trying to turn existing members into power sellers.

Always treat your MLM business as a real business. You can ask your recruiter to help you come up with a marketing plan, and a business plan as well. Also create and write down your goals because this will help you to stay focused. Hold yourself to your deadlines, and make your goals achievable and realistic. Don't let your efforts fall behind because it can easily become habitual, and that will only slow you, or kill your business. You must be willing to work at this every day.

Remember this: MLM's and pyramid schemes are two different things.

But it's true that there are some similarities. The main difference is, of course, that MLM is a legitimate business structure. Lots of people get into it because they want to make money without having to do a lot of work. If you're in a solid MLM, you can make money if you work the system with hard work. Your rewards are measured by what you put into it.
