Photography Has Never Been This Easy Before!

By Cortney Kasinger

Photography is an easy and rewarding hobby that can be easily picked up by amateurs and professionals, alike. All you need is a camera, film, and a little bit of knowledge about how to take a good picture. There are other elements that can make a picture better and that's where this article comes in.

Be mindful of the framing of your subject. What this means will vary by subject. For instance, if you are taking a picture of one person, getting a close shot where the subject fills the frame is your best bet, since details are important. On the other hand, a landscape shot might benefit from being further away, as you get the entire scene this way.

A good rule of thumb when it comes to choosing settings on your camera is to choose the higher quality settings that take up more space on your memory card. The lower settings will not allow for quality printing, especially if you want to enlarge them. When shooting at a high resolution, you can always lower it later for sending via email or displaying online.

Consider how the viewer's eye will follow the shot. Good shots have at least one point that will focus the viewer's initial attention. Better shots have multiple points of interest that act as a virtual tour of the photo. Example include a defined skyline, lines on a road, or items in the foreground that stretch into the background.

Incorporate things like roads, streams, shorelines, railway lines, or even railings, into your images. These are referred to as lead lines and are a great way to capture the way that a viewer is going to look at your photo. They will lead your viewer's eyes through the scenes of your photos.

You cannot take the perfect photograph if you do not have your camera, so keep it on you at all times. That amazing photo op can happen at any moment; and chances are, you are not going to have time to go back home and get your camera. Whether the sun is setting perfectly over the river or you catch a furry critter doing something photo-worthy, you need to be prepared to get the shot quickly. As stated before, photography is a great hobby for anyone. Photographers use cameras to create images and express creativity with the addition of filters and lenses that produce unique photo results. By using the tips from the article above, you can get started with photography and produce your own unique photos.
