Advantages of PMP Certification

There are currently around 400,000 project managers from around the world that have PMP Certification. This project management qualification is the most widely recognized and demanded certification for project managers world-wide. When an individual has this type of certification, it shows that they have acquired the competency, experience, and education that are needed in order to successfully direct and lead projects.

According to the 6th edition of the PMI Salary Survey, you can receive a 10 percent more salary increase with PMP Certification than your non-credentialed peers and colleagues. The type of individual suited for this type of certification includes those who are experienced projected managers and looking to improve their skills, increase their earning potential, and earn employers respect.

In order to apply for PMP, there are certain requirements you need. You can obtain a 4 year bachelor's degree or the global equivalent and at least 3 years education in project management to apply for certification. Another choice you have for certification is obtaining secondary diploma which can be either a high school diploma or equivalent in addition to having 5 years of project management experience to include 7500 hours directing and leading project and you must also complete 35 hours of project management education. If the certification eligibility requirements are not met for PMP, you can consider CAMP (Certification Associate in Project Management) certification. You can apply for certification by registering online. You also will receive an application for PMP that is printable. When you receive your PMP credentials in hand, you will need to obtain 60 PDU's each year cycle.
