SEO Friendly Content

By Nicholas Sorrentino

Writing SEO friendly content is a fairly easy job. Despite what you may think, it doesn't have to result in stilted, ugly prose. SEO friendly content is just material that was written with some attention paid to how a search engine might view it.

The most important thought in your mind when working on content for your website should be that you're writing for people, not for search engines. If you have to choose between a method that is good for your readers but not so good for search engines or vice versa, go with the one that works work for your readers. Search engines ultimately want to give content that is interesting and informative for their customers, not a boring page that is too optimized.

Make sure the content is pertinent to your website. Search engines can sometimes figure out when a page is not really about what it might seem to be about. If you're fooling around with your content to try to deceive search engines, it will eventually be found and you'll lose rank or even be banned. It's much more intelligent and more efficient to write pieces that is relevant to your topic.

Search engines usually examine the first few sentences or paragraphs for the relevant keywords. So, you want them to be denser at thetop of your article. Don't start using variations of the keyword or phrase until later on in the next paragraph.

Repetition is important for SEO friendly content. Once you've decided on your keyword phrase, you want to use it several times throughout the page. You should use bold, heading tags, and various other emphasis HTML tags to highlight your keyword phrases, but not too much. If you can look at the Web page and see exactly what your keyword phrase is, you've probably included it too often. Remember, you're ultimately writing for people, not a search engine. If you keep all of these tips in mind, you're going to rank higher in Google in no time!
