The screws from the previous light had been in place for around 17 years and had rusted to the point there nearly wasn't enough "head" left on the screws to give the screwdriver enough purchase in the slots to back the screws out. I purchased a couple of these lights to go in my yard, they're amazing! The installation directions are simple to follow - according to my son - and it took about half an hour of unhurried work to place the outdoor flood lights in position. I purchased this because I'd purchased an additional Heath-Zenith product that was excellent, but with this one I paid for the censor light and $200 in addition for an electrician to install it and come to change my light switch. Now out of the blue (just past the date I'm able to return it of course), the light keeps coming on, right after it goes off. Now I've got a worthless light. Works best for me, these lights are fantastic. Removed the old light and re-used the wiring. It's real glass, not some plastic piece. After I requested exchange, I would have to pay for shipping it back again. Set up in April 2011.
The cost is excellent especially for what you'll get, Light sensor and a movement sensor, plus you are able to put them on manual mode and just flip them off and on. At idle it uses half the bulb wattage makes the outdoor flood lights keep going longer and more energy efficent. I'd have thought it would be at least 12 inches taller. Thank you for an excellent item. The light isn't as bright as a flood light, but is allot brighter than I figured it might be. Both stayed attached to the deck and work all right. This can help keep your polished reflector free of dirty smudges from fingerprints when assembling the light. Solar is weak, at very best, during the cold months.
This light is in our backyard- we live in a metropolitan environment so I was concerned that there would be an excessive amount of light for it to turn on but it turns on when I enter the back courtyard during the night. The only problem is the fact that only half of them focus on arrival. I am impressed with the metal contruction and the LED lights (all fifty of these) have barely impacted my electric bill. You can not enter north side of backyard and not trip the sensor.
The product includes a significant design defect.
Boy, are we glad we did get these cordless window candles! The light is manufactured extremely nicely.
They work fantastic, and are simple to adjust and set up. Installed this about 5-6 months back. I had been up on a ladder outside the garage testing the place for mounting the light when I accidentally dropped the light from a height around 8 feet onto the concrete driveway.
