Teenagers And Fat Gain: Is Sleep The Remedy?

By Philip English

Frequently insufficient sleep (or too much sleep) and fat gain go hand in hand. Moving towards puberty is definitely a complicated and demanding time for children. Then throw weight gain into the combination and their lives becomes even more complicated to manage. Peer pressure, school expectations, and adolescence, are just a few of the strain related components young children and teens come up against. Then there's the endless succession of gossipy half-truths they discuss amongst themselves on an every day basis, and the amazing impact the fashion magazine and TV media takes on in their lives when they begin studying who they really are and the way they wish to present themselves to the world.

Insufficient sleep, Putting On Weight & Teen Fixation with Celebrity

Everybody knows that staying current with the latest trends in today's so called 'pop' culture means staying trim. Although weight maintenance means having a balanced diet, getting lots of physical exercise and a good night's rest, the stress on many adolescents to lose weight (sometimes excessive amounts) to allow them to go with the latest fashions, like the famous people in the newspapers, can indicate extreme dieting. Yes, wishing to be (like) another person (famous actor, singer, comedian, or any one of the various celebs in the lens today) is starting to become an accepted component of adolescent life.

Digital Technology Issue, The Hi-Caffeine Drink Craze & Insufficient sleep

Is your budding adolescent going through unusual amounts of stress and panic because of their infatuation with owning the newest technology to hit the industry? Is your daughter/son constantly on their iphone with buddies all hours of the night and not getting the sleep they need? Is your teen son/daughter consuming hi-caffeine carbonated drinks to kick start their day (like adults drink coffee), or drinking hi-caffeine pop while actively playing computer games late into the evening?

Lack of Sleep & Adolescents Susceptible to Fat Gain

Fortunate are the adolescents endowed with a quick metabolism and an energetic way of living. These adolescents burn fats faster and are competent to deal with weight challenges without difficulty - but for the adolescents who are prone to putting on weight it's a different story. Attempting to keep up with 'lucky' friends is normally where their weight problems start to escalate and become even more upsetting.

Coupled with an unhealthy lifestyle, if you feel a teenager's lack of sleep doesn't promote putting on weight, reconsider that thought. Yes, genes, intake of food, and lack of exercise may be the main reasons why so many children and budding adolescents can quickly gain pounds - but another thing continuously disregarded these days would be the fact increasingly more scientific tests show that lack of sleep is an essential component not being taken seriously when it comes to teen putting on weight and obesity.

Finding Resolutions?

Because of the net and media interest being on stylish, lean famous people, it makes it harder for teens to be assured and have a good self impression.
