Finally, do not be afraid to sit down and have a candid discussion with your boss. By talking to your boss about what you want, you can be sure that there are no miscommunications and that your intentions within the company are made totally clear.

As you discuss what you want to do within the company as for feedback as to the work you are doing now. Getting feedback about what you can do differently can be a great way to show that you are prepared to make changes and you are humble enough to follow through with the changes.

Becoming a manager can be intimidating, but with the right tools you can be successful. Start developing those tools as early as possible to ensure early and continued success.
