The calendar of Pirelli history

By Josh Callern

Calendars have been in the news quite a bit lately. This is made possible by the fact that the end of an era and 2012 was foreseen by Mayan calendar. Although they didn't predict the end of the world, they did predict a wholesale change in the beginning of a new 5000 year period. Not even being a topic of conversation, Pirelli calendar is one of the most famous calendars.

In 1872, the famous Pirelli found his tire and cable company. Only 45 people did he employed at that time. earning thousands of dollars, thousands of people is what the company employs now. As an advertisement ploy, the company started the calendar in 1962. Originally featuring tires, they aimed this calendar at key markets. The photographer shot models on the beaches of Cote d'Azur later in the calendars history. Sophia Loren was one of the most famous models to appear in the calendar. In 2007, at the age of 72, her decision to appear in the calendar was quite controversial. The Pirelli calendar was not stopped by that as its producers have always been ahead of their time.

With the coming of the recession due to the oil crisis in 1974, they discontinued the calendar. They started the calendar again 10 years later. The calendar still featured tires in some form or another, until the calendar became more sophisticated. It was not necessary to show the product finally.

The production of this calendar was small and the only key people that Pirelli wanted had this calendar are things you need to keep in mind. Its demand was high and availability rare.

Around the world, this calendar eventually became very famous. The famous racing team is part of the reason obvious. For its production, Pirelli started using the best photographers and models. The decision was to make them limited and valuable during this time. Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss and Helena were among the models and the calendars became collectibles.

The narrative differed depending on the photographer. For example, Peter Beard, a famous photographer shot in the wild landscape of Botswana. A free spirit and a natural tone to the layout is what he wanted. Bernard had lived in Africa, and he was familiar with the wild natural landscape.

The calendar was printed on lead free paper by the company. what Pirelli wanted is for it to be eco-friendly. He made sure the people shooting the calendar models were environmental friendly. In addition, he worked to protect a forested area in Costa Rico, to offset the number of the emissions used for producing the calendar.

The very latest calendar features Miranda Kerr and it shot in Brazil. Depicting a playful attitude, the narrative features models posing themselves and eating bananas. Each year the Pirelli calendar has a different theme of womanhood. Combining creativity, beauty and glamor is said to have a place of honor. The excitement is added by its limited run and restriction of ownership.
