Extremely Pleased With Product - Dual Core Netbook Critique

By Mia Sanchez

I liked the screen of the Samsung more, and the ease of controlling various options (volume, brightness, etc) with one key, whereas with this one if it has such quick functions they are well hidden. A bar pops up on the left, which is annoying and not easy to get rid of.

Low power, great CHIPSET design and just out run the competition. If you're looking to surf the net, print and edit a document here and there, these systems will do you great and last a few years. Fires up quickly and does all the Office documents and web surfing I need it to. Based on other reviews I immediately upgraded the RAM to 2GB.

Three days in and this machine is rocking. It shipped quickly and right out of the box it fired right up.

But out of the box I have downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird for email, Open Office for Word Processing and Avast for virus protection (no reason for me to complain about the Microsoft "Lite" when I can get perfectly good free options). I am running on an ordinary average home Wi-Fi and everything downloaded/loaded and is running. If you're looking for a small compact quality Notebook, Don't let this one get away! I love everything about this new computer. The packaging is easy to wipe clean and keep looking new. The cord is super long so it's easy to keep it plugged in and watch movies in bed or use it a long distance from the plug. Toshiba gives it to Amazon in a little box, and the laptop itself is just in eggshell packaging. What's worse is that Amazon puts it in a box and DID NOT surround it with packaging material.

This is exactly what I needed - lightweight, small and easy to carry without sacrificing screen quality and processing speed. The keyboard is extremely comfortable for its size, the screen crisp and clear. Please wait to buy DDR3 or DDR2 until you have the product in hand. The listing calls for DDR2, however, upon opening the package the computer clearly calls for DDR3. Furthermore I like the size of the keys, which are the largest of any netbook I've found, although the PC netbooks look like they have similar key size. The initial boot-up took about 10 minutes, during which I plugged in the power cord.

I also love having a webcam this will make it so much easier to communicate with my family and friends at home when I leave for college in ten short days. Thanks for reading my review and good luck in your laptop search.

With the Windows 7 system it was noticeably slower. I am using my netbook as my school computer while I am going to college. This notebook (mini laptop) is adorable. Not to diminish it in a man's eyes, but it's classy looking, slim and fits in your hand easily. There is a wonderful free little program available on the Internet called "Batch Image Resizer" and any full sized pictures I wanted to email, I just ran though that and all was fine. The full sized originals remained on the notebook with back up to a flash drive.
