The Importance of Eating Breakfast

By Franklin Skribbit

If you're still working on your event planning degree, or just getting into the business for fun, an event always becomes a much bigger project than most people realize. There's always something that goes wrong in the last minutes before show time. Caterers fall through. Key decorations won't work.

It seems like there is little time for anything else. Many students struggle to eat regular meals because they are always on-the-go. Not surprisingly, breakfast is one of the most common meals skipped by college students.

No matter what the degree earned, whether it is a business marketing degree or a degree in human resources, college graduates will need to make full use of their resumes in order to achieve their desired career goals. One of the main mistakes that resume writers often make when drafting their first resume is oversimplifying past job duties.

Typically, for those individuals who are just beginning their careers, the list of jobs under the past work experience section of the resume can look pretty bleak. So while it is vastly, vitally, and absolutely crucially important to not elaborate former job duties to the point of lying on the resume, there are still ways to position the job duties in their best light and therefore reflect positively on the applicant.

Our bodies need the nutrients that breakfast provides for us in order to recharge. Starting out the day without giving our bodies the energy and nutrients it needs is not a good idea.

Second, don't say anything until you've thought of a solution. Too often you'll want to kill the messenger. Instead of expressing anguish, thank the messenger and then keep silent until you have an idea formulated to fix the problem. Once you've got an idea, put it into action.

For example, take someone who worked landscaping through college. Perhaps these individuals are nervous to list this job among their other work experiences thinking that it is not relevant to the career they are applying for.

Instead, you need to focus your efforts on the tasks that only you can accomplish. If there's a check that needs to be signed, or a big decision to be made, you need to be there to make it.

This will not help you to lose weight. Even if skipping breakfast does help you to lose weight, you are not losing weight in a healthy way. Our modern culture is obsessed with being skinny. While being skinny sometimes means you are healthy, it does not automatically mean you are. Our society should instead be focused on being healthy, rather than just being skinny. Weight loss is so important to people that they lose sight of what their goal should really be

Eating breakfast is especially important for students because it will help them absorb the information that they learn throughout the day. Skipping breakfast puts you at an automatic disadvantage as you attend your classes for the day.

Whether this is the first rodeo of your event planning degree, or the last in your career, always remember that something will go wrong. Expect the worst and use these three techniques to help you get out of any and every sticky situation you couldn't see coming.
