Taking a Break in Sun-Drenched Algarve

When Algarve is mentioned, you automatically think of beaches marked with spots or rounded patches from sun, hidden behind mountainous or hilly sections of the country, golden-sand beaches pocked by rock formations. It's sun-drenched shores are what makes Algarve the jewel of Portugal. People deem Algarve as unhurried, relaxed and atmospheric, but with the regions rich Portugese culture, it invites you to extend your stay. It is some sort of a melting-pot where tourists can easily become adjusted to life, locally. It's a city exploding with a lot of people who are fun-loving and who poses busy night lives, which are more prominent in locals rather than in tourists. It is home to several old churches and museums surrounded by tranquil and shady parks. It is an ideal shopping destination as its streets are filled with cafes, local markets and modern malls. Leading to an attractive marina are quaint little plazas. Its coastlines are dotted with restaurants and seaside resorts. Algarve has professionally designed golf courses which it boasts of. It's no wonder why Algarve remains at the top of everyone's list of favourite summer holiday destinations.

Planning Holidays to Algarve

It was once an attractively unusual, old-fashioned fishing village, Albufeira, is now teeming with holiday magic while keeping much of Algarve's old charms. Local gypsy markets come out every fortnight, displaying their fare of pottery and jewellery. For last minute holiday plans, Albufeira is the destination of choice.

Carvoeiro, losing none of its old charms, was once a fishing village too. Pocketed in a sensational coastline, this little town is in the middle of a village square, where one can find open-air cafes that looks out to rainbow-colored fishing boats in the ocean. Just a few metres ahead and you will start to feel the sand on your toes, enjoying Carvoeiro's sandy beaches, which are tucked behind cliffs rising up from the bay. Whitewashed lanes, dappled with little souvenir shops line the other side of the village. Restaurants serving local dishes abound. But if you choose to create your own meal, there's a local produce market around, too. So whether, you've chosen your summer holiday or a last minute holiday to Carvoeiro, you will find yourself hooked!
