Improve Your Sales Without Begging For Money Online

By Amanda Thomas

Chances are high that you have seen people on your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts attempting to sell you something at one time or another. This is pathetic not to mention annoying. The majority do not mind a sales pitch or coupon offer here and there but usually no one logs on to any one of these social networks to be inundated with the please buy my gadget sales spiel.

In this post I am going to share one or two tips that I discovered from 4th Generation Communications founder and Chief Executive Tim Beachum. I had the advantage of interviewing him recently and one of the things that exhilarated me the most was his viewpoint on how entrepreneurs exploited social media to attempt to increase their sales. Everything he revealed rang true for me because I was once one of those folks that was, "begging" For business.

Before it is possible to effectively generate sales online you must first understand why people get online to start with. You do not go to the grocery store to watch the movies, you don't go to McDonalds to buy tacos, I think that you are starting to get the point. Using that same logic it should make it simple to comprehend that people do not login to Facebook or Twitter to receive messages from you saying, "buy my stuff!"

Once you understand the mental reasons that people use the Internet it will make it far easier to push your products and or services. Irrespective of what fancy wording is used there are only three reasons on earth which make people need to get on the web. Those reasons are as fallows:

1. Research - people look up info on everything from how to, diy, and review type sources.
2. Interactivity - people access the Internet to interact with one another. This is why social media is a huge deal. It gives people the opportunity to be heard, and to engage other like minded people.
3. Entertainment - Since the beginning of time people have always craved one type or another when it comes to entertainment. The same thing is applicable to the era of the Internet. Entertainment of our choice is just a few mouse clicks away.

Now that you see why people get online can you see why the old fashion method of begging for business no longer applies? Give your clients and prospects valuable content that answers a difficulty that they may be having and in exchange you will have earned the privilege of doing business with them. This exchange is commonly known as the Law of Reciprocity and it is a Universal law that works.

Simply apply the what you have learned in this article and let the magic happen.
