If One Can Know When Is The Rapture

By Dianne Crane

There have been a plethora of major motion pictures produced that chronicle the end of days. In some cases the end of humanity is triggered by a large nuclear catastrophe. In others the end of time comes with the impact of huge meteors and global pandemics. The way the world ends is steeped in the fears that have plagued modern mankind. But it is believed that there will be an event that will facilitate the end of humanity as it is currently known. And this event is known as the rapture. The question of when is the rapture is raised by many.

Man in his drive to master all things also wants to master the proposed end of all things. As man fully understands something he can began to control it and use it as an advantage. Examples include electricity, chemistry, and biology. So perhaps the desire to know the specifics of the end is with the confidence that it also can be controlled and perhaps prevented.

Also floating about is the thought that if man knows when it may occur then there can be a chance to get his house squared away and be ready before. This is like children that take from cookie jars as they think no one is paying attention. It is also like a thief which steals as long as their is belief that he can not be caught. Avoiding the capture does not suspend the transgression.

A significant fact of the rapture is, just like the universal engineering of electrons, protons, and neutrons, it is something that man can not control. Mankind can manipulate earth, water, and trees into varying types of usable goods. There is the inability to make their foundation blocks from nothing.

The Holy Bible refers to signs which will happen before the end of the world. There are many scholars and even theologians that have interpreted these signs in order to predict the end. So far each attempt at prediction of the rapture has failed.

A passage of scripture exists which mentions that man can not know the specific time when the Son of God will return to earth. If there is no ability to discern when it will happen, then it is obvious that affecting the event in any way is not possible. Perhaps the focus is better suited in accepting that it will occur rather than fretting over when.

When a person receives salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior who died for all their sins and yet lives, they receive assurance of eternal safety and security. There is no need to worry or fret about the future. Jesus the Son of God holds the future. One could just focus on maximizing life one day at a time.

There will continue to be various debates concerning not just the time the rapture will occur. There will also be talk concerning it it will happen at all. Humans do not have the skills to know the future. What man does possess the skills to do is be prepared.
