Are You Planning A Funeral?

By Jimmy Waller

There are many things in life that we always try to avoid but can never deny of their existence or importance; funeral planning is one such thing. No one will be excited to plan his own funeral but it is a reality that funeral planning can save your family and closed ones from a lot of fuss.

The best time to discuss and think about your funeral is when you are young. It is a fact that when we are young our death seems far away. This is the time when we can plan and our funeral settings effectively with minimum of discomfort.

The loved one of the deceased are both mentally and physically stressed at the event. They are not only down emotionally but also have to deal with all the legal work and funeral arrangements like funeral home settings, meeting the lawyer, freezing the bank accounts, inviting the guests etc. The family and friends are often caught wondering "is this how he would have liked it?" this further adds to the emotional trauma and stress. Planning your own funeral saves your loved ones from all this and gives them the chance for prayers and other religious norms.

Choose smartly whether you want cremation or burial. More people are choosing cremation these days as it is less expensive and easy to arrange. A decade ago only few religions allowed cremation but now more and more religions are ready to accept the practice. Some people also just choose cremation because they personally like it. So, rather than keeping your loved ones guessing about your burial procedure let them know in advance.

Finding the right funeral home can be daunting for loved ones especially when the deceased made no wish of his own. Funeral home is a serious business these days and you are unlikely to get any honest advice from them. The best option is to choose the funeral home which is closest, trusted and pocket friendly if there is no family funeral home.
