A Timeline Of Goddess Statues

In ancient times, goddess statues were everywhere. Every country, every town big or small had at least one or two. They were objects of worship during the times of many gods.

When the time of many gods was over and Christianity was afoot, the statues that had once been loved by so many were abandoned. All the statues soon found a new reason for existence. They were used a decor items in palaces and homes.

As time went on and television was invented, goddesses and their statues were then seen in Hollywood movies and sitcoms. Their popularity was as high if not higher than during ancient times. They were loved by millions again.

During the 1980s, a creation came about that amazed the world. It was this creation that was going to give the goddesses a new popularity. They would be better known than ever before. This creation was called Nintendo.

The Nintendo brought about the creation of a game called, The Legend of Zelda. The goddesses would certainly get more good reputation than ever, three goddesses never heard of would arrive to light. These new goddesses would be renowned as Farore, Din, and Nayru.

After the games release, it had many sequels over a number of years. It wasn't until the 2000s and The Windwaker was released that we actually got to see statues of the golden goddesses. Up until then they were only a mentioned part of the game. In the Windwaker, there are three statues that represent the three goddesses known as Farore, Nayru and Din. They can be found on triangle shaped islands to north, east and south.

The main character known as Link will go around and collect three pearls, they have to be placed in the correct statue. Once there the statues open in sequence from one to three, each revealing and inner statue. These statues then use the pearls to shoot beams of light to each other causing a triangular effect across the three islands. This then causes the Tower of the gods to rise out of the water.

The renown of statues such as these has been on the rise for many years through video games. They enhance any story or side story that is in any video game.Another example of the renown that they have gained since the olden times can be found in The Elder Scrolls sequel called Skyrim. There are many side quests within the game that deal extensively with gods and goddesses. There are three actual goddesses in the game and they are known as Kynareth, Mara and Dibella. If the player completes the series of goals for each they will gain a special gift.

All in all goddess statues have been a part of life since mankind realized they could carve stone. From real life idols of worship to virtual reality, these are parts of history that the world just cant seem to let go of. They are in our all of heritage no matter what race or country we come from and people who are honest with themselves always stick close to their roots.
