How to Save on Your Travel Plans

With everything on the rise, from food prices to fuel, the much awaited vacation can be quite impossible to pull through. The best way is to look at everything in a whole new light and start looking for budget friendly alternatives. This way the vacation with family or friends can still happen without the need to empty that bank account.

Having the best vacation doesn't mean you should spend more than you can afford. Armed with the right knowledge on where to go and what to do, one will sure enjoy every bit of the vacation.

1. Many choices are available to aid you in getting to your destination.

a. By air - flying by plane is perfect for those who would like to spend as little time as possible traveling since this is actually the fastest specially for long distance. However airline tickets just like accommodations on hotel increase during weekends. Book during weekdays to save more and another tip is to pack less unless necessary to bring more. Airlines are charging extra on baggage.

b. By sea - traveling by sea is actually best left to those with tough stomach who can endure the rough waters. Although it is also nice to travel by sea if you want to enjoy the scenery.

c. By train - Best choice if you will be going from one city to another. It's cheap compared to traveling by sea and air.

d. By bus - perfect for those who would love to explore things during bus stops. It is also considered cheap and economical.

2. Where to stay during vacation is probably the toughest decision. If you think that hotels and cheap motels are your only option, then read for alternatives:

a. Campsites - this is perfect for those nature lovers. Public parks do have specific spots designated for campsite. This can be rented out with an affordable price. Includes a public shower area, a space for tents and tables are provided. There are also private campsite if you are a bit choosy and prefer the use of hot water and laundry services.

b. School dormitories - this is only applicable during summer breaks. Universities and college although not all of them allow tourist to rent their dormitories.

c. YMCA/YWCA - this is rather a little pricey option for travelers and vacationers. Although the good thing about this is that all guests can be sure that they will be treated well.

d. Youth/Elder Hostels - most budget-friendly compared to all the other choices above.

3. What is a vacation without shopping and buying different souvenirs for the trip and goodies for those that you have left at home? The question is where to shop without spending too much money? Instead of raiding those souvenir stores in the main road, try going to local stores and malls. With a little patience and a lot of walking, one will find what they are looking for on a friendly budget.

With a new way to look at how to travel at one's convenience without overspending, one will definitely enjoy their vacation.
